Münster Osnabrück International Airport (FMO) – Münster’s regional airport is situated 30 km from the center of Münster and offers a bus transfer and taxi service to Münster. With several connecting flights from and to Frankfurt (just 30 minutes) and Munich (60 minutes). This is the most convenient for international travelers to reach Münster and highly recommend by the organizational team. Moreover, during the week of the FEPSAC Congress FMO will offer a special information and welcome desk for the incoming FEPSAC participants.

Frankfurt Airport (FRA) – Germany’s largest international airport, located in one of the main financial centers of Europe. Connecting flights and trains to Münster ensure a convenient arrival. Connecting flights to Münster (30 min) ensure the most convenient arrival. It is also possible to use the train connection from the airport (approx. 3 hours).

München Airport (MUC) – Second largest airport in the southern part of Germany. The most convenient transportation option is booking a connection flight to Münster (60 min). It is also possible to arrive via train, however, this takes more than 7 hours.

Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) – Germany’s third-largest international airport, is situated 150 km from Münster and offers various direct train connections.

Dortmund Airport (DTM) – For some travelers, the Dortmund airport can also be an option, this airport is situated 80 km from Münster, with direct train connections to Münster (the train station Holzwickede is 1.5 km from the airport).


The Münster main train station is located in the city center and is easily accessible from other train stations (using either high-speed trains such as ICE and IC, or regional trains such as RE and RB).

You can reach Münster directly via Autobahn A1 and A43. Driving from Frankfurt, Hamburg or Amsterdam to Münster takes about 3 hours, driving from Berlin about 5 hours.

It is recommended to use the parking at your accommodation and public transportation.

Public transportation

All attendees of the 2019 FESPAC congress will receive a free city bus ticket, valid from 15 to 20 July, 2019.

Münster offers a very good transport infrastructure and buses commute at peak times every 10 minutes. More information regarding public transportation within Münster can be found here.
